AUO 2025 CSR Supply Chain Prosperity Conference: Advancing Resilient Transformation

On August 24, AUO held its sixth annual CSR Prosperity Conference, themed “Resilient Synergy for Transformative Growth”, bringing together over 150 representatives from 70 supplier partners. In response to the growing challenges of sustainable transformation and external uncertainties, this year’s conference focused on deepening ESG implementation and announced an enhanced carbon reduction target for suppliers—demonstrating AUO’s firm commitment to accelerating its journey toward net zero. Through trend-sharing sessions and interactive exhibition zones, AUO joined forces with its partners to co-create a resilient and competitive sustainable supply chain ecosystem.
Paul Peng, Chairman of AUO, stated:
"In an era of heightened geopolitical uncertainty and escalating climate and social risks, building a resilient supply chain is essential for long-term business sustainability. AUO continues to drive transformation through its three strategic pillars—Display Technology, Smart Mobility, and Vertical Solutions—while embedding ESG into its operational strategies and value chain management. Our suppliers are key partners in this journey, and we remain committed to fostering shared growth and embracing the next phase of opportunity together."
Now in its sixth year, the CSR Prosperity Conference has addressed key sustainability topics such as circular economy, net zero, and plastic reduction. Amy Ku, Chief Sustainability Officer of AUO, shared the cumulative sustainability achievements of AUO’s suppliers, including:
- Over 200,000 tons of carbon emissions reduced
- More than 20,000 tons of water saved
- A robust circular supply chain with 100% of relevant suppliers certified for recycled materials, and a 97% packaging recycling rate, generating an economic value exceeding NT$5 billion
AUO also actively engages in social participation initiatives, including the GOLF Industry-Academia Alliance, the “Invasive Plant Removal for Stream Protection” ecological program, and tree planting and coastal cleanup campaigns under the “Green Fortress” and “Blue Coast” initiatives—creating a positive-impact sustainability ecosystem.
To meet evolving market demands and increasing customer expectations for carbon reduction, Ethan Chen, Senior Associate Director of AUO’s Supply Chain Headquarters, announced an upgrade to the company’s supplier carbon reduction target—from 20% to 25% by 2030. AUO will further promote actions such as reducing material carbon footprints, enhancing water conservation, and increasing the procurement rate of recycled materials—reinforcing its commitment to net zero. The conference also recognized outstanding supplier partners for their contributions, encouraging broader participation in sustainability efforts and enhancing the overall competitiveness of the supply chain.
In light of global transformation, businesses must balance industrial growth with environmental, social, and governance priorities. This year’s conference featured keynote speeches from experts across three dimensions:
- Governance: Kevin Lee, Senior Executive Vice President at Deloitte Taiwan, analyzed resilient supply chain management frameworks from a multi-risk perspective.
- Environment: Chien-Chung Tian, General Manager of the Taiwan Carbon Solution Exchange, explored global carbon market trends and the opportunities and challenges of carbon trading.
- Society: Yi-Xi Hsiung, Chief Sustainability Strategist at CommonWealth Magazine’s Sustainability Institute, shared strategic pathways for businesses to create net-positive impact.
The event also featured three themed exhibition zones showcasing AUO’s collaborative achievements and future roadmap:
- Green Solutions Zone: Highlighted AUO’s carbon credit strategy, the AUO UPlanet Carbon Footprint Management Platform, odor mitigation technologies, and smart energy-saving solutions for factories.
- Local Social Innovation Zone: For the first time, AUO invited local social enterprises from Hsinchu—Hongmei Cultural & Creative and Dashan Beiyue—to present local cuisine and craftsmanship, reflecting AUO’s long-term commitment to community integration.
- Time Corridor Zone: Displayed key milestones from past conferences, inviting attendees to witness the evolution and deepening of AUO’s CSR prosperity vision.
AUO continues to embrace “Shared Prosperity” as its core value and “Transformation” as its driving force. Through its annual CSR Prosperity Conference, AUO fosters consensus, deepens dialogue, and strengthens cross-industry collaboration. Facing diverse sustainability challenges, AUO will continue working hand-in-hand with its supply chain partners to enhance resilience, expand impact, and jointly advance toward a new milestone in sustainable growth.
