Environmental Education Facility at Taichung Site
Environmental Education Facility at Taichung Site
The expansion of our external influence is one of our corporate sustainability targets. The energy-saving green factory, environmentally friendly development, use of renewable energies and cultural characteristics of the AUO Taichung SitePlant were therefore used to obtain EPA accreditation as an “Environmental Education Facility” in 2014, the first environmental education facility of the manufacturing industry in Taiwan. AUO hopes that the various promotion strategies will help cultivate the ideals of environmental education, a sense of mission and a love for the land both within the company and in the society at large. In the future, AUO hopes to work with more nearby schools, communities and environmental education facilities on making a contribution to environmental sustainability.

AUO GreenArk Water Resource Showroom of Longtan Site
Water Resource Showroom
The world is now experiencing climate change and shortages of water resources. To communicate the water resource philosophy to society, AUO used the full process water cycle at Longtan Site along with “AUO GreenArk,” the first LCD water resources center in Taiwan, to develop an educational curriculum. Accreditation as an environmental education facility was also obtained making Longtan the 12th environmental education facility in Taoyuan City. AUO is now the only company in Taiwan's manufacturing industry to have two accredited environmental education facilities. A positive and easy to understand format is used to introduce the general public to the innovative full process water cycle and other related know-how at AUO. The message that water is a precious resource is also conveyed at the same time. AUO hopes this will set a benchmark for environmental education.
- Focus on “Water Resources”
- In addition to raising awareness on the connection between land use, resources distribution and water resources, visitors also get to go hands-on with the principles behind the full process water cycle in order to promote effective conservation in domestic water consumption.
Objectives in 2025
- The number of guided tour visitors has increased eight times
- The goal is to increase participation by education volunteers by 20% each year
